Two international students from the university’s International College — DADZIE JAMES KINGSFORD of Ghana and SIRGIANE AMINE of Morocco — won the gold award at the 15th International Martial Arts Tea Competition, which concluded recently in Jiezi Ancient Town, Chongzhou, Chengdu.

The competition, held under the theme “Tea Rhymes in Rongcheng, Martial Arts on the Peak,” is one of China’s most influential international tea events. It gathered nearly 600 tea experts from around the world, creating a platform for skill exchange and mutual cultural learning. With diverse categories mixing professional skills and entertainment, the event brought back the grace of ancient Chinese tea contests and served as an important bridge for cross-cultural dialogue.

The students immersed themselves in traditional Chinese tea culture and expressed their passion through the competition. They also shared multicultural perspectives with tea lovers at home and abroad. Their participation helped promote Chinese tea culture internationally and deepen cross-cultural dialogue — marking a success for the university’s global education efforts.
