Lishui University began offering education to international students in 2017, and has since steadily expanded into degree-granting programs, gradually establishing a scientific, standardized, and distinctive system for cultivating global talents. Founded in October 2025, the International College (IC) of Lishui University is responsible for the education of international students as well as students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.

By capitalizing on the potential of its strong disciplines to build a distinctive Study@LSUbrand, the college is committed to cultivating innovative and socially responsible graduates who exhibit love for their home country and possess global perspectives and competitiveness. As of January 2026, the university hosts about 300 international students, including both degree-seeking and language students, from nearly 50 countries across Asia, Europe, Africa, and Oceania--such as Bangladesh, Yemen, Russia, Romania, Morocco, Nigeria, Ghana, and Zimbabwe--fostering a multicultural campus and implementing a whole-person education model within an international framework. Our graduates are employed globally, with a steadily growing number working or starting up businesses in China.

For undergraduate education, the university adopts a 4-in-1 collaborative education model, which consists of discipline-specific education, general education, research and internship education, and community and peer education. With a credit system, IC currently offers  bachelors degree programs in fields such as Computer Science and Technology, Nursing, International Economics and Trade, E-commerce, and Tourism Management. To further meet the diverse academic needs of international students, the college plans to add four more bachelors programs in 2026--including Civil Engineering, New Energy Materials and Devices, Horticulture, and English Language--while also introducing masters degree programs in fields such as Agriculture, Agricultural Management, Resources and Environment, Materials and Chemical Engineering, and Tourism Management.

Additionally, the college actively host short-term international exchange programs such as Young Envoys Scholarship (YES). To date, it has organized over a hundred cultural exchange activities, encouraging international students to explore both traditional Chinese culture and the local culture of Lishui beyond their academic studies.
